Alfred Minahan

BIOGRAPHY

Al Minahan is the President of Preti Minahan Strategies, a strategic consulting partner of the regional law firm Preti Flaherty. With 30 years of experience as an advocate, policymaker and strategist, Al uses his long record of success across New England to serve his clients' best interests.

Since his election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1977, Al has been a persuasive force among the region's leaders in business and in politics. After seven years service as a legislator, Al founded the Minahan Companies, a public policy and communications firm, where he represented and advanced the interests of his clients at the difficult nexus of commerce and government.

In 2007, Al guided his firm into a new partnership with the law firm Preti Flaherty, creating a powerful new approach to client service that maximizes the benefits of combining legal insights and public affairs strategy. This resulted in the creation of the subsidiary Preti Minahan Strategies.

Al works with his clients to plan long-term public affairs strategies, stake out policy positions and craft effective messaging at crucial junctures. His contacts across industries and agencies are an invaluable resource in achieving lasting results and growing his clients' businesses. Al lives in Wakefield, Massachusetts with his wife Joanne and three children. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.
